One of the most gratifying experiences as a pattern designer is seeing my own designs and visons come to life in the hands of other makers. I believe that patterns (and quilt patterns in particular!) should be a starting place for a maker - more of a suggested set of guidelines than rules - so that each individual can truly imbue the quilt with their own experiences and personality. Color and design reflect so much of our individuality and it is thrilling for a pattern to take on a life of it's own once it's out in the world!
As with my Box Canyon pattern, I had an amazing group of testers for Pineknot! They came up with some fantastic color palettes and gradients, many of which I would never have thought to try myself, but turned out SO beautifully! Check out some of the fantastic quilts they made!

quilt and photo by Candace Wells (@thepaintedravenco) - She made her wall hanging into a pillow by leaving off the top and bottom pieces! Love it!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of my wonderful testers. They are truly an integral part of the process and I couldn't do it without them. Be sure to keep and eye on the hashtag #PineknotQuilt and #NKHandmadepatterns for more quilty inspiration!
